Christmas Concert with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra

The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1955, has a rich history and has achieved many successes. After merging with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra in 1985, the orchestra retained its unique identity.
The orchestra rarely plays under the baton of a conductor, and its members communicate with each other almost instinctively, creating a special chemistry during performances. Gordan Nikolić has been the concertmaster since 2004.

The very first Christmas play received a 5-star review from NRC and is now performed annually as a tradition in the Muziekgebouw. All 350 students of Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam sing together with Holland Baroque under conductor Leonard Evers. Narrator Cécile van de Sant plays Mary, who looks back on these special days.
