The Imagine Fantastic Film Festival Amsterdam is the place to be for lovers of fantasy, horror, science fiction, and related genres. The festival shows fantastic films that transport you to new worlds, allow you to see reality in a different way, and discover the unknown.

Imagine brings together filmmakers, talents, and fans, showing both classics and forgotten gems as well as new work, and after more than forty years, it remains delightfully idiosyncratic.

 

The Imagine Festival 2025 revolves around ‘A Tentacular Touch’, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft but without his racist ideas. The program seeks nuance in a world full of fears and uncertainties and explores the unknown through films about science, sects, and cosmic fantasies.

It invites us to examine our fears and doubts, suggesting that madness may also be wisdom. In this way, it challenges us to discover what monster and human really mean.
