ARTZUID is the most important Sculpture Biennial in the Netherlands. Every two years, for a period of four months, fifty striking sculptures are exhibited along the leafy Apollolaan, Minervalaan and Zuidas in Amsterdam Zuid. The organisation aims to create a new meeting place through a carefully curated selection of museum-quality sculptures. ARTZUID makes art accessible to everyone, free of charge.

Top international artists and young Dutch talent will create the sculptures and installations that will be on display this summer on Apollolaan, Minervalaan and Zuidas in Amsterdam. ARTZUID transforms these avenues into a surreal urban landscape in which figurative work alternates with architecturally-inspired abstract sculptures. They exhibit a wide variety of sizes and materials. What connects them is their focus on the enigma of human existence. The wonder, the emotions and the visions of being.
The architectural sculptures and installations by often young artists radiate a sense of involvement and idealism reminiscent of the vision of architect H.P. Berlage and urban sculptor Hildo Krop. They encourage visitors to think about the future of the urban community and to find answers to the question of which strategies are necessary to build a sustainable and peaceful society.
